Sarova Lion Hill Lodge

Lake Nakuru National Park

You will be met by a Lynto Safaris driver guide at your Nairobi Hotel lobby area. Depart and drive to the Great Rift Valley with a game drive in the park en route to Sarova Lion Hill Lodge. The Great Rift Valley is the world’s largest fault, stretching almost the entire length of East Africa, from Jordan to Mozambique. Along its floor within Kenya lie numerous volcanoes and lakes, some of them alkaline due to the lack of an outlet. These soda lakes attract flamingoes, which feed on the algae and present a spectacular scene when massed together. Vistas of the rift and the valley below are spectacular and can be seen whilst driving through central and northern Kenya on way to various destinations.

Lunch served at Sarova Lion Hill Lodge. Depart for afternoon game drive in the park. Lake Nakuru National Park surrounds Lake Nakuru, a shallow alkaline lake famous for the thousands of lesser flamingoes who flock here year round. The park is about a four hour drive from Nairobi and is a favourite with visitors. Besides the rich and varied bird life this is a popular place to encounter leopard. Waterbuck are usually sighted along the lake shore, two species are resident here, and this is the home of the Rothschild’s giraffe. Baboon, impala, buffalo, monkeys, warthog, impala, Reedbuck and eland are also resident. However, the main attractions are the rhino. The park had been designated a rhino sanctuary and is entirely fenced. Both black and white rhinoceros are thriving here and this is one of the best places in Kenya to observe them. Depart and drive back to Nairobi. Arriving at Safari Park Hotel at approximately 1900 hrs
